Honestly, I could never tell the difference between Aurora and Denver. Aurora is Colorado's third-largest city located south-east of Denver. Honestly you can get on Illif or Colfax or buckley drive 10 to 15 minutes to Denver. I know when I first moved to Aurora I would always tell people I lived in Denver because all of my jobs were in Denver or DTC and the the drive to work would only be a few minutes. The only major difference between the two Cities is that Denver has a bigger downtown shopping area, and the cost of living in Aurora is cheaper . Rent drops by about $500 cheaper for the same living space in Aurora. My first residence in Colorado was located in south Aurora or Arapahoe county near the Cherry Creek Resevoir. The outdoor activities as far as walking spaces, dog parks and trails made Aurora stand out from Denver. Denver has a lot walking spaces and bike trails as well, but Aurora has more open space to explore nature trails and take a break from the city rush. Whereas the Denver trails are surrounded by commericial spaces and the constant urban development. So if you visit Denver and want to quickly escape to some nature trails or real outdoor walks then schedule a trip to hike the Cherry Creek Resevoir or horse back riding in south Aurora. Actually, there is a mall in south Aurora as well that's surrounded by some nice natural lanscapes with nice views of the Rockies. Also, Aurora has a deep military history and you can check out the Lowry Air Force base for military museums and get acquainted with Colorado's military history. Aurora has a collection pioneer homes that show Colorado's early history from the 1800's and early 1900's that you can visit to learn about Colorado's early settlers. There are Native American sites that tell the history of the early plains Native Americans and their imprint on Colorado history. There's a lot to history and nature to explore in Aurora and Colorado for all people.
